About
Letters from the Floor is a publication about the human texture of business — the conversations, encounters, and forms of memory that turn strangers into colleagues, customers, and friends.
We cover the parts of professional life that don't show up in the metrics dashboard: the trade show floor at the end of a long day; the lunch that becomes a five-year partnership; the trick a veteran salesperson uses to remember the name of every spouse and child of every account she works with. We are interested in commerce as a fundamentally human practice — older than capitalism, older than the corporation, as old as the first market.
We publish weekly. We are independent.
Founder & Editor
Letters from the Floor is written and edited by Ethan Reese, a writer and entrepreneur based in Boston. Ethan is the founder of Overclock Systems, a software company in the field of sales technology. This publication does not cover sales technology, conversation intelligence software, or any product category in which Overclock competes or could plausibly compete in the foreseeable future. Coverage decisions and editorial judgment are independent of any commercial interest. See our Editorial Standards for details.
